Mr Shaukat

been appointed as the new Housemasters of Aurangzeb, Haider and Liaqat Wings
respectively w.e.f. 1st August 2010. We wish the Best of Luck to all of
them and pray for their success.
Sword of
Honour for Ex-Cadet Talal Tariq

Ex-Cadet Talal Tariq (Wing Commander Haider Wing 2006-07) has been
awarded Sword of Honour at PMA Kakul on the day of Passing Out Parade on 17th April 2010. Well done Talal!
Keep it up and many hearty congratulations from all of us.
This is also worth mentioning here that our Ex-Cadets have earned this
honour for 3 times since 2008. In 2008, Ex-Cadet Uzair Akram won this
glory. In 2009, Ex-Cadet Asfand Yar Bukhari was awarded with this
grace and now in 2010, Ex-Cadet Talal Tariq has brought this honour to
the college.
Revised Prices
of College Prospectus
The Price of College Prospectus is revised with effect from 8th April 2010. It
includes the price of past Question Papers for the last three years. The new
Prices are as under:
1) By Hand Rs 500/-
2) By Post within Pakistan Rs 600/-
3) By Post outside Pakistan Rs 900/-
Old-Boys
Reunion and Old-Teachers Day held at the College
The Old-Boys Reunion was held in the college on 28th February 2010. HOBA (Hasan
Abdal Old Boys Association) also elected it's new governing body. Dr Faisal
Manzoor 22nd entry and his panel got elected, congrats to them. This was
followed by a
scrumptious lunch hosted by the college in the Old-Boys honour.
The unique thing about this year's Reunion was that some Old and Gold teachers
were also called to grace the occasion. They were invited a day before i.e on
27th February 2010 and the whole day was dedicated to them and celebrated as
"The Old-Teacher's Day". They addressed the audience on both days and shared
their views about the golden days they passed at the college. Everybody
including Current faculty, cadets, Old-Boys, benefited from their thoughts.
Annual Parents
Day and Prize Distribution 2009-10

Parents’ day is the mega event of Cadet College Hasan Abdal. It was held on 22nd
of December 2009. Chief Minister of the Punjab, Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif
honoured this auspicious event by his presence as the Chief Guest.
He arrived at the college at 10 am and attended
a brief meeting with the Principal about the renovation work to be carried out
in the college. He had to visit the exhibition hall
after this but it was cancelled due to shortage of time.
Then he moved to the parade ground escorted by
the riding squad and was given guard of honor by the cadets, followed by the
parade. P.T. show displayed by the cadets in the oval was a worth seeing sight.
A few cadets displayed their best skills of gymnastics and then there was a
lovely show of horse riding. This marked the end of 1st part of the function.

The 2nd part started with the recitation of
some Holy Verses of Quraan. Then the Principal presented the annual report to
the Chief Guest and the guests. He also invited the Chief Guest for distributing
the prizes.
Cadet Tanzeel-ur-Rehman received the Sword of
Honour being the Best Overall Cadet, whereas Cadet Junaid Janjua, being the 2nd
Best Cadet, was awarded the Principal's Cane (introduced for the 1st time).
Haider Wing lifted the Champion's Trophy after waiting for 24 years.


The Chief Guest in his speech, appreciated the whole function and the efforts put
by the cadets, the faculty and the administration. He also announced a huge
amount of Rs. 100 million for the much needed renovation of the campus and
doubled the annual grant from 20 million to 40 million with the immediate
effect.

At the end there was refreshment for the Chief
Guest, faculty, parents and the cadets. Just before leaving the campus, he had a
group photograph with the Champion Wing i.e. Haider Wing for the year 2009-10.
The function was a great success and highly
admired by everyone who attended.
Annual
Exhibition and Prize Distribution 2009-10
It was a sunny morning of December 19th 2009, the
day to show the exhibits and the prepared things by the cadets after their
countless efforts.
The Chief Guest, Lt Gen Shujaat Zamir Dar
(Chairman POF Wah Cantt and Chairman Executive Committee of Cadet College Hasan
Abdal), arrived at the
college at 9:45 am and after a brief meeting with the Principal and an
introduction with the faculty, he cut the ribbon to inaugurate the exhibition.

He was briefed by the stall-boys about the
exhibits. He appreciated the efforts of the cadets on the spot and later on in
his speech as well. Then the Chief Guest was escorted by the riding squad in the
oval.

The Principal, in his opening speech, extended
a very warm welcome to the Chief Guest and the parents of the prize winner
cadets then he invited the Chief Guest to give away the certificates and
trophies. The Principal presented College Crest to the Chief Guest at this
moment.

In his speech, the Chief Guest congratulated
the prize winner cadets and their parents. He also congratulated the faculty,
Principal and the cadets who maintained the college so beautifully. He also
advised the cadets to devote themselves to the studies as they are going to be
the future leaders of the country. He presented a cheque of Rs 1,00,000/- to the
Principal for the Hobbies Clubs.
At the end there was refreshment for the Chief
Guest, faculty, parents and the prize winner cadets.
Prof. Mohammad Asif Malik
appointed as new Principal
Professor
Mohammad Asif Malik, Pride of Performance in Education, has been appointed as
the new Principal of Cadet College Hasan Abdal from 23rd November 2009. He has
replaced Air Commodore (R) Tayyab Naeem Akhter who has now taken up the
Principal-ship of PAF Public School Sargodha.
Prof. M. Asif Malik has a vast experience of
teaching and Principal-ship at various renowned institutes at his record. He
served Cadet College Hasan Abdal as a Physics teacher from 1965 to 1975. During
this tenure, he was also given an additional responsibility of Housemaster of
Aurangzeb wing for the last 02 years of his service. He then left for Nigeria.
From then on, he has never looked back and kept
rising and rising in the field of Education. He has the honour of being the
Principal of various renowned institute like Cadet College Mastung, Lawrence
College Ghora Gali, Cadet College Palandri, Sadiq Public School Bahawalpur and
Chandbagh School. He has all along been an enthusiastic Sportsman as well. He
has been a player of Cricket, Tennis and Basketball and has various distinctions
in this field also.
In recognition of his extraordinary services in
the field of Education, he was awarded the Pride of Performance in 1996.
We wish and pray that the College rises to
further heights under his kind yet enthusiastic control. The faculty, cadets,
ministerial staff and old Abdalians wish great success to him and promise to
provide full support in all aspects. May Allah be with all of us.
ABDALIANS at
Top in NUST Entry Test 2009
Ex-Cadet
Hashim Ejaz Malik (50th Entry, Iqbal Wing) grabs up the Top Position among
Medical Candidates for Admission in NUST in 2009. Hashim remained at the college
from 2003 to 2008. Due to his excellent performance in various fields, he was
declared as Cadet Captain in 2007-08.

In the same test,
Ex-Cadet Ahmed Abdullah Mahmood (51st Entry, Liaqat Wing) has backed up 2nd
Position among Engineering candidates. Abdullah was a Direct Entrant in the
college and remained a student at CCH from 2007 to 2009.

CCH raises fund for SWAT/MALAKAND IDPs

The staff and cadets of CCH make an
effort to provide a little help to their brothers and sisters included
in IDPs by raising a fund of Rs.1,81,631/-. Out of this amount,
Rs.1,00,000/- have been delivered to Red Crescent Society Punjab and
the remaining amount deposited in the Punjab Governor's Fund. May God
help the Pakistani Nation to come out of this crises at the earliest.
Inter-Wing Naat
competition

In connection with the 12th Rabi-ul Awwal
celebrations, Inter-Wing Naat competition was held in the college on the evening
of 8th March. The renowned Naat Khawan and Religious scholar, Mr
Manzoor-ul-Qaunain kindly consented to be the Chief Guest to grace the occasion.
Each wing was represented by two Naat Khawans.
Cadet Paras Ibne Ali (O/W) won the competition and Cadet Tahir Mehmood (H/W)
stood 2nd. Omer wing picked up the Naat Champions Trophy whereas Haider wing
clinched Runners Up trophy.

Rocks the Town in Dawn Spelling Bee Competition

A team of three cadets, named Yousaf Bashir
Hadi, Hamza sarosh and Jibran Wahid
represented the college in Dawn Spelling Bee
Competition held on February 07, 2009 at Islamabad Club. The
competition was too tough, as there were over a hundred students
participating in it.
Cadet Yousaf Bashir Hadi won
the pride for his college and became
the Regional Champion. Cadet Hamza Sarosh got
the place of 3rd Runner-Up and Cadet Jibran Wahid Khan
stood 4th Runner-Up. These three
cadets will now participate in Nationals
which is going to be held on 19th & 20th of the
same month at Karachi.

brings All Pakistan Bilingual Speech Trophy home
A
team of two cadets, named Bashaar Ilyas and Obaid-ur-Rehman
participated in All Pakistan Bilingual Speech Contest 2009 held on
January 31, at Chenab College Jhang. There were more than 20 colleges
in competition, including some big names like Military College Jhelum,
GCU Lahore, GCU Faisalabad, King Edward Medical College Lahore, FC
College, MAO College Lahore, SE College Bahawalpur, Islamia College
Peshawar, etc.
After a very tough competition, Cadet Bashaar Ilyas managed to secure
2nd position in Urdu speech, whereas Cadet Obaid-ur-Rehman stood 4th
in English. The team was able to pick the overall trophy for the year
2009 and bring this great honour to the college. This is also worth
mentioning here that due to busy schedule at the college, the team had
only 2 days at their disposal to prepare themselves for the
competition. Well done boys and the teachers (Mr. Zaheer Hussain in
Urdu and Mr. Mueen Akhter Tahir in English) involved in their
preparation.

stands Runner-Up in Inter Collegiate Athletics Competition 2009
Cadet College Hasan
Abdal managed to pick 12 Silver & 4 Bronze Medals and
overall stood 2nd in Rawalpindi Board Inter Collegiate
Athletics Competition 2009. This is the 1st time that
the college participated in such an event and without
much time to practice, the cadets brought great honour
to the college.

in Gymnastics in Inter Collegiate Competition
2009
The college participated for the 1st time in Rawalpindi Board Inter
Collegiate Gymnastic Competition 2009 and picked up the Runner-Up
trophy by winning 1 Gold and 5 Silver medals. Cadet Bashar Ilyas was
declared as the Best Gymnast for the current year.

stands at top in All Pakistan Bilingual Speech Contest 2008
A
team of two cadets, named Awais Ishfaq and Usama Zafar participated in
All Pakistan Bilingual Speech Contest 2008 held on September 26, at
Cadet College Pulandari. There were more than 15 colleges in
competition including Military College Jhelum.
After a very tough competition, Cadet Awais Ishfaq managed to stand at
the top in English speech, whereas Cadet Usama Zafar stood 3rd in
Urdu. The team was able to pick the overall trophy for the year 2008
and bring this great honour to the college. Well done boys and the
teachers involved in their preparation (Mr. Zaheer Hussain in Urdu and
Mr. Shaukat Mehmood in English).
