Most of the details given below are related to admission in Class VIII as it is the regular point of entry in the college. For information regarding admission in Class XI, please click here.

1. Am I eligible to apply for admission to your college?

Conditions of eligibility for admission to Class VIII are as under:

    Age:  The candidate must not be over 14 and under 12 years of age on 1st April of the year of Entry. No relaxation of age, even of a single day, is permissible.
 

    Educational Standard:  The candidate must have passed Class VII or equivalent by 1st April of the year of Entry

Admission in First Year Class: A few vacancies arise in the Class XI in case some of our students leave the College after Matriculation for private reasons. These vacancies are filled on the basis of the result of written examination, interview and medical test. Click here for further details.

2. How can I apply for the admission?

College Prospectus contains the Application Forms, Question Papers of last Three years and detailed information about this institution. It can be obtained from the College Admission Office by hand on cash payment of Rs.500/- and by post Rs.600/- (for foreign post Rs.900/-) through a crossed bank draft in favour of Principal, Cadet College, Hasan Abdal.

Once the admission forms are resubmitted to the college, a roll no. is issued and the candidates have to appear in the entrance exam. Be sure to select whether you want to apply for O-Level or simple VIII class, as no amendment afterwards will be acceptable.

The candidates are required to remit a Non-Refundable Registration Fee of Rs.1000/- with the filled-up application forms.

An Additional Fee of Saudi Riyal 600/- or UAE Dirham 600/- is charged from the candidates applying from Saudi Arabia and Sharjah respectively, before examination at these centres.

Normally, the last date for submission of forms is by the mid of November and the test is conducted during last week of December.

3. What is the method of selection?

Written Test

An open competitive examination comprising three papers (Mathematics, English and Urdu-Islamiyat) is held in the last week of of March every year at Peshawar, Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Karachi, Quetta, Sharjah (UAE) and Jeddah/Riyadh (Saudi Arabia). Each paper is of 1½ hours duration. Mathematics paper is different for Matriculation Course and GCE 'O' Level Course.

Urdu Islamiyat Paper is compulsory, and no alternative subject is allowed. The candidates from overseas countries must qualify in this paper. However, the non-Muslim candidates may leave out the Islamiyat part of the Paper.

The syllabi for the Admission Test are given at Appendix 'A' in the Prospectus. The Entrance Test for the College is a competitive examination. The syllabi given in the Prospectus are meant for the general guidance of the candidates and any question considered suitable can be set in any Paper in any form.

Interviews and Medical Examination

The candidates who qualify in the Written Examination are required to appear for Interview and Medical Examination at these centres (Peshawar, Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Karachi & Quetta). Candidates at Riyadh and Sharjah Centres are interviewed on the next day after the written test. Their medical examination is done at the College before joining. Only those candidates who are found medically fit will be considered for the admission. Places are offered on the results of the tests/interview in the order of merit. The results are strictly confidential, and no correspondence shall be entertained in this connection.
